Cooking Basics 101: Old Fashioned Oatmeal

Hello and welcome everyone.

I hope your 2017 is getting off to a wonderful start!

Today I thought I would share the first video in a new series I’m starting called “Cooking Basics 101” where I will teach you a new cooking technique each week.

Today we are learning how to make old fashioned oatmeal.

To make this yourself, you will need:

1 and 1/2 cups of old fashioned oats
1 and 3/4 cups water
2-3 Tbsp. cinnamon
A pot large enough for these ingredients
Dried Fruit for Topping (optional)

Directions:
1. Start by placing the oats, water, and cinnamon in the pot and turning your stove top to medium-high heat.
2. Once the mixture comes to a boil, stir well.
3. Then reduce heat to a simmer and place a lid on the container to cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
4. Top with your favorite ingredients and serve!

Be sure to like this post for more videos and let me know what type of cooking video you would like to see next!
